Westgate is looking for a skilled Videographer / Content Creator to capture the projects, people and craftsmanship behind our work.

This is a hands-on, field-based role for someone who knows how to turn active construction sites into compelling visual content. You’ll work across our residential and commercial projects in West Vancouver and Langley, capturing everything from major construction milestones to the details and behind-the-scenes moments that bring a project to life.

What You’ll Do

• Visit active Westgate construction sites in Langley and West Vancouver
• Capture high-quality vertical and horizontal video content
• Document construction progress, key milestones and transformations
• Film trades, site teams and project leadership in action
• Capture architectural details, materials and craftsmanship
• Shoot walkthroughs, project updates and short-form social content
• Identify compelling moments and opportunities for storytelling while on site
• Capture footage suitable for Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn and our website
• Organize and deliver footage efficiently to the Westgate marketing team
• Collaborate with our marketing team on shot lists, concepts and upcoming content needs

What We’re Looking For

• Strong videography skills with an eye for composition, lighting and storytelling
• Experience creating content for social media and digital platforms
• Comfortable working independently on active construction sites
• Ability to recognize interesting content without needing every shot directed
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel between Langley and West Vancouver as required
• Comfortable following all site safety requirements
• Experience filming architecture, construction, real estate or design is an asset
• Drone experience and/or certification is an asset
• Photography and editing capabilities are an asset

The Right Fit

We’re looking for someone who is creative, proactive and observant. Construction changes quickly, so you should be able to walk onto a site, understand what’s happening and recognize what is worth capturing.

You don’t need to be a construction expert, but you should be curious about how things are built and interested in telling the story behind the finished project.

Westgate is looking for an Architectural Technologist who is passionate about design, technical excellence and bringing complex projects to life, playing a key role in the design and technical development of projects from concept through construction.

You will work directly with our architectural and construction teams to develop permit drawings, construction documents, BIM models and technical details, ensuring every project is coordinated, buildable and aligned with client expectations.

What You'll Do

• Prepare architectural drawing packages for permits, tendering and construction
• Develop detailed plans, elevations, sections and construction details
• Coordinate design intent with consultants, engineers and internal stakeholders
• Assist in the development of conceptual designs and presentation materials
• Create and maintain BIM models using Revit
• Coordinate with the remote BIM team
• Coordinate architectural, structural, mechanical and electrical systems
• Participate in clash detection and model reviews
• Support visualization and rendering workflows where required
• Assist with municipal permit submissions and revisions
• Coordinate consultant drawings and project documentation
• Conduct site visits and field measurements as required
• Respond to RFIs and assist with drawing revisions during construction
• Review drawings for accuracy, code compliance and constructability
• Maintain drawing standards and document control procedures
• Support continuous improvement of our design and drafting systems

Required Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology or a related field
• 3+ years of experience in architectural drafting or architectural technology
• Strong proficiency in Revit
• Working knowledge of the British Columbia Building Code
• Experience producing permit and construction drawing packages
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with luxury residential projects is a plus
• Experience with commercial tenant improvements or mixed-use projects
• Knowledge of BIM coordination workflows
• Experience with SketchUp, Lumion, Twinmotion, Enscape or similar visualization tools
• Understanding of prefabrication or modular construction systems

What Success Looks Like

Within your first six months, you will take ownership of drawing packages from concept to permit submission, improve project coordination and drawing quality, contribute to BIM workflows and clash detection processes, support the successful delivery of multiple residential and commercial projects, and help strengthen and streamline our design and pre-construction systems.

Location

Greater Vancouver, BC. Hybrid / work-from-home available for the right candidate, with site visits and in-person collaboration required as needed.
